About The War In Angola
The position of the FNLA

Operation SavannahWith the crossing over of the Chipenda faction to him, Holden Roberto gained more than just the approximately 2 000 men that Chipenda had. It resulted in extended terrain gains to the FNLA in the south and southeast of the country. There were also a number of military bases that were evacuated by the Portuguese forces which was then taken over by Chipenda on behalf of the FNLA.
