Carolina Commando - (2 members)

The Carolina Commando was established at Carolina in the Eastern Transvaal in 1859, previously having been part of the Lydenburg Commando. During the Anglo Boer War it was an active Boer commando operating against the British forces. In the time of the SADF it was organised under the Group 28 Headquarters at Middelburg as part of the Eastern Transvaal Command and was responsible for local area protection. It was disbanded with the remainder of the commandos after President Mbeki announced the disbanding of the commando system on 14th February 2003.
