Reconnaissance Commando Base Unit - (0 members)

The Reconnaissance Commando Base Unit (RCBU) [Afr: Verkennings-kommando Basiseenheid] was established in Durban on 1 May 1976, but only started to operate from 1 January 1977. The task of the RC Base Unit was to handle the administration and support of the Reconnaissance School, 1, 4 and 5 Reconnaissance Commandos, prior to the relocation of 4 RC to Langebaan and 5 RC to Dukuduku. The RC Base Unit was absorbed into 1 Reconnaissance Regiment on 1 January 1980. All the members of the unit wore the insignia of 1 Reconnaissance Commando.
