SA Army Non-Effective Troop Section - (0 members)

The SA Army Non-Effective Troop Section (SAANETS) (SA Lëer Nie-Effektiewe Troepeseksie - SALNET) was an administraive unit used for all non effective troops which would not be deemed available for active service after they completed their National Service, i.e. soldiers that were either studying, or working in key-installations in South Africa (for example: the South African Post Office - SAPO), etc. Such soldiers were automatically exempt from camps during which their personnel files would then be transferred to SAANETS. Every now and then even these soldiers would be called up for a three month camp to get them more actively involved.
