The Koevoet call sign Zulu 1 was for the transit base at Ongwediva. The recovery teams were stationed here and they had a shoulder flash with a Casspir recovery vehicle on it. Six combat teams were stationed at Zulu 1: Zulu 1 Delta, Zulu 1 Hotel, Zulu 1 India, Zulu 1 Juliet, and Zulu 1 Mike. A base for stores was opened at Ongwediva because the facilities at Oshakati were full.
