Group 17 Headquarters - (2 members)

The Group 17 Headquarters [Afr: Hoofkwartier, Kommandogroep 17] was established in 1969 with its base at Vereeniging, originally under the Witwatersrand Command in Johannesburg. After the amalgamation of the Witwatersrand Command into the Gauteng Command in 1995 the Group HQ fell under the command of the Gauteng Command until the Group HQ was amalgamated with Group 42 Headquarters at Lenz, in 1997.

Established in 1969 and was based in Vereeniging next to the Correctional Services. In 1997 the unit was moved to Lenz. Im unsure of the date of disbandment but most of the Staff was incorporated into 21 SAI...
