25 Squadron SAAF - (2 members)

25 Squadron used the Dakota and Wasp in the Short Range Battlefield Support/Air Support roles. Being previously disbanded, it was reformed in January 1951 from 21 Squadron, flying Dakotas as a part-time transport unit until being renumbered 44 Squadron in November 1953. Ysterplaat saw the squadron reformed in February 1968, once again equipped with the Dakota. Both 25 Squadron and 27 Squadron were eventually amalgamated with 35 Squadron and disbanded in October 1990.
