A new regime

For Brigadier Roos everything still revolved around the date of 11 November 1975. He was not aware of his government’s decision to keep the South African Defence Force in Angola for an extended period, or that they intended to increase the scope of its involvement. He was still under the impression that South Africa had to withdraw from Angola after 11 November 1975. On the Monday night when he reported the details of the failed attack to Rundu, he requested that three cargo planes be sent to Ambriz to extract his team and their weapons.
