FAPLA attacks to the north

Brigadier Roos’ biggest concern was the safety of his men and the strengthening of the ELNA-front. On 16/17 November Commandant Radmore and Major Bosch returned to Rundu and on 20/21 November Truter returned to Pretoria. The same day the following personnel arrived at Ambriz: Captains M. Kinghorn and D.M. Nel as infantry instructors, Lieutenant L. van Niekerk of the SA Corps of Engineers to pay attention to the bridge across the Dande and signaller Lieutenant W. Verster. Major-General A. van Deventer, then commander at Rundu, arrived with the group for a quick assessment of the situation in the north.
