About The War In Angola

Area division

When South Africa decided to not withdraw its forces from Angola on 11 November 1975, it was also decided to replace the ad hoc organisation then in place with a more permanent and proper headquarters. Thus Task Force 101 came to being after negotiations with the Minister of Defence on 12 November 1975. At the same time the Air Force’s organisation was also changed and reorganised under 301 Air Component.
