The Security Force have had strict orders to act against SWAPO only, but also against FAPLA should there be any interference. In addition the orders were that the local population were not to be injured and private property was not to be damaged.

The local population returned to the town the next day, where food and medical services were made available to them. The hospital was left undamaged and with its medical facilities intact. A soccer match, which was attended by about 400 - 600 of the local population, was arranged between the troops and the local inhabitants. The troops won two-nil.
