| Corrie was killed in action while he was on hot pursuit of a terrorist group of about 45 strong. The paratroopers were outnumbered by 3 to 1. Corrie was up and out of cover bravely returning fire when he took the hit. A mortar bomb detonated between Corrie and Hannes killing both. He died together with two other paratroopers that day, Pierre Du Bois and Hannes Greyling. 6 SWAPO terrorists were confirmed dead. |
