Preparations for the November-offensive

After the reconnaissance team of the enemy on the Santa Comba route was driven away by Major Hotlzhausen, for a few days at least, it was quiet on this road to the north, but it was generally accepted that a large enemy force have been building up in the vicinity of Quibala. It was therefore essential that this route not be left undefended. But the combat team was clearly not strong enough to attack on both routes simultaneously. A choice had to be made.
