|  | The Hotnotsgod was the first South African mine-clearing vehicle, and was an Armoured Mine-Detecting Clearing Vehicle used by the SA Engineers Corps. It was designed to detonate mines with its multiple sets of wheels. In suitable conditions it can push a set of 20 rakes, which penetrate the soil to a depth of 10 cm. In the event of a mine detonation, the wheels can be repaired in about 20 minutes. The vehicle can be operated by remote control in high-risk areas. Remote control is via cable link or by radio for distances up to 500m.
