 Operation Sausage II involved the mopping up of SWAPO insurgents just north of the SWA-Angola border over the period 22 to 29 August 1975: The operation was extended to include the clearing of Pereira d' Eça. In command of this operation was the Officer Commanding 1 Military Area, Brigadier Dawie Schoeman, based in Rundu. The operation involved Charlie Company of 1 Parachute Battalion, based at Etale, as well as elements of 3 South African Infantry Battalion (3 SAI) and 2 South African Infantry Battalion (2 SAI)
