Vicimus - We Overcome

Find Another UnitBrief Description
2 South African Cape Corps Infantry Battalion - (1 members)

The SA Cape Corps, one of the oldest military units in SA history, can trace its ancestry back to 1781. It was re-established in 1963 as the SA Coloured Corps Training Centre. Public pressure forced a name change and "Coloured" was substituted with "Cape" in 1970. In 1979/80 the Cape Corps expanded into a corps school, 1 SACC Battalion and the SACC Maintenance Unit. The 2nd Battalion, South African Cape Corps, was raised in December 1984. The SACC was eventually disbanded on March 31, 1992.
